Luke’s Change

A well done parody of the 9-11 conspiracy video Loose Change, claiming that the destruction of the original Death Star was an inside job. I’d believe it!

All the alternate endings to the Animaniacs theme

Jonah has discovered the Animaniacs. I never watched it regularly but Corey was a big fan. Here are the variant from the theme song.

Totaka’s Song

A video explaining a secret Easter Egg tune hidden in a bunch of Nintendo games. Have you ever heard it?

Soulja Boy’s got the Munchies

Soulja Boy has got the munchies and he’s not afraid to show you how he’s gonna deal with it. I like that he’s bought one of everything from the local 7-11, including some Snackwells!

Deadmau5 playing with a circuit bent Speak N Spell

It’s weird to see him without his helmet on. Also, I really want to learn how to circuit bend things. I’ve got a stock pile of potentially annoying electronics to tamper with. Now to learn to solder.

Joel McHale and Jimmy Fallon play Egg Russian Roulette

This looks like a lot of fun. Who wants to play?

Here’s an accidental glitch-rock version of America the Beautiful by James Taylor at the inauguration.

Shugo Tokumaru – “Katachi”

That’s a lot of die-cut foam core. Holy Cow!

Amazing Sleight Of Hand Magician Yann Frisch

Corey has been reading a book about the science behind sleight of hand and this guy is amazing at it. Our brains are so easily fooled.

Happy New Year everyone! Back to the Friday Fives! Enjoy!

Squirrel wrecks a kitchen and then escapes like a BOSS!

This happened to me once. I woke up to find a squirrel staring at me from across the room and then a chased it around the house with a broom until I locked him in the stairwell. Animal control came to remove it and it sounded like fucking LOONEY TUNES in there with all the crashing and banging and screaming. Good times.

IMDB’s top 250 in 2 1/2 minutes

Brilliantly edited. How many do you recognize? Music is a mashup of Joan Jett, The Beatles, House of Pain and Cypress Hill by DJ FAROFF.

“Sexy” pranks from Just For Laughs

I love a well executed and non-cruel pranks. These had me cracking up.

Penguin takes a fall and makes the best sound ever

Assuming this isn’t fake, the reaction sound of surprise and resignation between the group and the individual are surprisingly human.

Brian Williams takes Zooey and Siri down a peg

…and just declares the day a total loss.

Horse Taking it to the Limit

A new GTA mod allows you to cause mayhem and destruction as a horse driving a car. The final wreck in the video is hilarious and the song will get stuck in your head.

The evolution of 8-bit art

Another PBS off the book short. These guys have really ramped up their relevance to their core audience. Well done!

The Art of Glitch

In the 80s I used to “fry” my Atari (switch it on and off until it freaked out) to get cool stripes and sounds. I even used them in a college project years later. Now it’s a full fledged art form and I love every bit of it (pun intended?) I’m planning to make some more of my own once I have a spare moment.

Pac-Man the Movie

PAC-MAN The Movie (The Fan Film) from Steelehouse Productions on Vimeo.

A fan movie about the secret government Pac-Man project. A little cheezy, but well done.

An indepth TED talk about the exact functions of our nerve cells.

Cat plays Super Mario Brothers

Probably the dumbest video I’ve seen on the internet in a while.

World’s most extreme zip line

Vertical drop of 600 meters over a total distance of 1.8km makes this the world’s steepest, tallest and one of the longest ziplines. Its also one of the fastest with top speeds of upto 140 kmph. This zipline is located on Sarangkot, about 10 km from the beautiful town of Pokhara.

Robot dancing to Cake

I want to go to there.

Robber fly dancing to Dubstep

Speaking of dancing things… even robber flies are not immune to the wubwubwub drop!

Landing on Mars

7 minutes of terror before the signal reaches earth letting us know that the Mars rover has completed a very complicated procedure to land safely on the surface. The dramatic music doesn’t help either. Maybe the scientists should turn it off.

Dungeons and Dragons cartoon if it were an actual D&D adventure

A little long but worth the watch. Pretty good interpretation of the only Dungeons and Dragons episode I actually remember. I want to play again :(

Insane Downhill bike race in Chile

Holy cow! The path is so narrow and then throw in steps and gaps and dogs and spectators, cripes! I want this to be a video game.

Journey for the PS3

This looks like the most intriguing game I’ve seen come up for the PS3. There are no monsters to fight, no (initially anyway) objectives to solve, just you and a desert and ancient ruins. So elegant and beautiful. I like seeing game designers put down the first person gun an explore something new.

Skeletor’s Greatest Insults

Skeletor lets loose on his minions and takes them down a peg or six. I’d forgotten how much the Monarch from Venture Brothers is based on Skeletor’s buzzsaw voice and ineptitude.

Awesome Rube Goldberg Machine

Audri is 7. He was inspired to make this video after seeing OK GO’s This Too Shall Pass. This kid is awesome!

Star Wars Uncut

And because I wanted to save it here for posterity, here’s the Star Wars film chopped up into 15 second slices and reshot by random people. So cool!

Anthropomorphic Cooling Towers Falling Down

They look so surprised and sad.

Water droplets orbiting a knitting needle in space.

It’s static electricity, not “gravity” but it behaves in very similar ways. this footage is captivating!

The sound or ice floes on a river

It sounds like the ice is screaming. Very unique sound. Image what this would sound like on a planetary scale for giant cracking ice sheets rubbing against each other on Europa or something.

Balance out of Life: Koyaanisqatsi (1982) at 1552% speed

Balance Out of Life from Wyatt Hodgson on Vimeo.

This reinterpretation lacks the meditation and patience of the Koyaanisqatsi, but works as an interesting study in time-lapse.  Watch the original!

Purple and Brown nickelodeon bumps

I showed a few of these to Jonah the other day when we were playing with Play-Doh and he really enjoyed them. Some of them are a little on the gross side, but I like their laid-back chuckling demeanor.
